To Veil or not to veil .....

So many Brides to be, ask me my thoughts on head wear and I have to say I am a real sucker for a veil, the longer the better.

So where did the idea of the veil come from?

Although the veil's history varies based on who you ask, most experts agree that you can trace its roots back to Rome, where a bride used to walk down the aisle with a veil over her face in order to disguise herself from any evil spirits who wanted to thwart her happiness.. Still, Sabatino notes that a veil means different things to different faiths. Despite their current popularity, the expert notes that that veils did go out of style for some time, and only became a beloved accessory again after Queen Victoria's wedding.

The next question is what style of veil:

The Long Veil

I never wore a veil at my wedding but my personal favorite is the 15ft long veil that my recent Bride Rachel wore at her wedding in Crete. Every photo displayed this spectacular piece in all its glory with the breeze blowing through it in the day time. The sunlight shinning through the veil at sunset was a stunning adornment to her outfit and of course looked glorious as she walked down the aisle.

Short & Stylish

A number of brides are going for the short and very stylish Veil that looks extremely classy and there are a number on the market that can add that extra finishing touch to your outfit.

Head Band

Or you can go for a head band which look great with an art deco styled dress. There are some super pieces out there at the moment. My favorite is a company who do one off bespoke head bands many are antique .https://www.rachelchaprunne.co.uk/
